Final neckwear designs

i am going to make a tudor one with swirls of material on top influenced by john galliano and on the bottom layer a ladder influenced by anselm kiefer. i made 2 world war ones one influenced by gask mas the holes within and onew with a flag on in batik and glue with a bomb and poppy on and a victorian one tied at the front coffee stained and burnt with splashes of glue on evberywhere and buttons on in a pattern.

Vivienne westwood

i found that vivienne westwood was the most influential british fashiopn designer who used the flag i have used this in a mini sketchbook. i liked her use of random objects such as saftey chains. i made mini flag designes dyes it and bleached it . then looked into her fahsion designs and made my own from it as i decided to make a dress with many techniques in the colours of the flag influenced by her work.

the worl wars

the most modern time period i decided top look at was world war 2 becuase it made a massibve difference to our country. i researched into key dates in it then got images of war responding with a painting of an army tank. i decided to lkook at bombs and explosions as they were the biggest mass killing within the war so i made sdamples of a design with string and glue where i designed it with pva then layered the string on puit foil on and painted over the top. i did a similar on but used card instead of string buliding up layers. i made a canvas of this also. i decided to look into rememberance sunday as some members of my family are in the army and it means a lot to us. they were marching in the newcastle memorial i took photos of it in which later i edited on photoshop. I alspo looked at the poppy becuase of this day and made numerous samples using different techniques such ad salt dough and card layering. i then looked at neck pieces from this era and made samples where i burnt them. then i looked into artists that used editorial work called george and gilbert so it could link with my photos that i edited on photo shop. i then looked at a world war artist abselm keifer and painted a picture of his (more info in a previous post)

Victorians

I decided to look at the victoriuans as i found that this was when there was a divide in social staus you had the wealthy royals and the poor workers that were involved within the industrial revolution. I looked at the clothes they wore and neck pieces also drawing images of them. i made some samples oft eh neckpieces using a doli with paint and batik. i did a piece where i layered net fabric and used the soldiering iron on it and atempted to coffee stained it however the fabric was weak and it didnt hold well but there is a little effect on it. i made another sample where i gathered the top layer and the next two layers i pleated one with newspaper where i burnt and white fabric which i coffee dyed to make it look rustic.

Tudors

I looked into the tudors because it was a time in british history that i felt was most relevant to me because it was very interesting. i researced into it finding out aboput henry tudor and hisd wives. i got some secondary images and drew primary ones from them. i had decided to look at neck pieces and compare them with other time periods, they were jewelled and rather circular. i made another word page wioth words relevant to that period such as 'wealth' and made samples of neck pieces buy gathering and burning and using the soldiering iron to make holes. i like this section of work however to improve i needed to make more sample of circular neck pieces as that was the final result i wanted to achieve.

when i looked at british history i felt there were certain words that stood out to me i made a collage of these with thye stenciol and coloured certain ones like fish and chips! i think a few more relavent words should have been coloured in.

Time Line

I created a time line to look through each stage of british history- the famous ones. I got secondary pictures and drew primary ones on. i coffee stained it and burnt it. the final result is good but it could have more primary photos on.
